Angry Joe's Top 10 for 2011:

I just watched a video on Angro Joe's Top 10:
http://angryjoeshow.com/2011/03/top-...icipated-2011/
GW2 is on 3rd place. SW:TOR is on 4th place.
I liked his commentary. What do you think about his rankings?
A word of warning: Bring some time. The video is more than 17 minutes long!|||Thalanor Thornhale:

I don't know man. . .
Angry Joe told me it was ok to buy the 2010 Alien Vs. Predator which turned out to be the 2nd biggest gaming disappointment to me (only outdone by Hellgate: London)
If you took the link to amazon.com you'll notice that the game is going for under $10. . .
Now feast your eyes on the vastly superior AVP:2 from 2001
10 years later. . . still going for more than $40
Consequently it was the first and last time I watched Joe's show, but I'm a reasonable guy. . .
I'd be willing to hear out his top10 list
-|||Take it for what it's worth. :-)
Appaerently, this video also surfaced on the SW:TOR forum. I really do wonder: Why is it each time GW2 and SW:TOR get mentioned (even it is in a top 10 list which means all games have promise), SW:TOR fans specifically bash GW2???!!! (Proof: http://www.swtor.com/community/showt...=283660&page=5) On the bright side, quite a few people state an interest in both. Some found the video intriguing enough to start following GW2 as well.|||Same reason GW2 fans bash SW:TOR. Small penises.
OT: Not going to spend 17 minutes listening to a guy calling himself Angry Joe rant about omg thiz iz gonna b c00l!!1!|||Angry Joe is really a bad actor.
Look at any other vids on the blistered thumbs or "That guy with the glasses" and you can see people actually speaking normally.
Joe acts like if William Shatner did all his lines while taking a Shatner.
Rants aside....
Ya, some random internet shmuck thinks GW2 is going to be cool. Who doesn't!|||Angry Joe is awesome, and deserves a lot more credit for his work. His show is pretty well polished when compared to many of the other online reviews on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses. He uses a pretty good green screen, has a 3d set, his own intro cartoon and doesn't mind dressing up for his reviews. Seeing Angry Joe as Machette was hilarious. He may not be funny all the time, but he puts A LOT of work into his reviews. He's also pretty honest regarding his game reviews. If it's bad, he'll honestly tell you just how bad it really is. And he occasionally also gives Indy games the spotlight they deserve.
But that aside, I like his top 10. He doesn't follow popular opinion, and instead looks at the games honestly. I would have ranked Guild Wars 2 a bit higher, and after hearing his comments, Starwars the Old Republic a lot lower. In fact, Starwars wouldn't even have made it on to my top 10. Because I don't like how static and bland it looks, and the last thing people need is another generic WoW rip off (even if it's wearing a Jedi outfit). I'm also pretty excited about Mass Effect 3. Regarding Deus Ex 3, I never played Deus Ex before, so I'll wait till we find out a little more about the actual gameplay. But I love the cyberpunk setting.
*jaws drop at Skyrim trailer... and watches it 3 more times*
Seriously, did anyone else feel like THIS after seeing the Skyrim trailer?|||I did love how he spent a good ~5 minutes basically saying how much he hated playing TOR...and then he ended the segment with "but it's BioWare and LucasArts, so it has to be good." I think TOR will be fun for its target audience, but c'mon, you can't say things like that and expect anyone who isn't already a fan to get excited about the game.
Oh, and he said that RIFT is some paragon of innovation or something like that...lol.|||Quote:

Well, in his defence. Bioware is the king of RPG's, so that's a valid defence. But yeah, it's hard to still be excited after all those arguments.
RIFT did some innovative things, perhaps not as revolutionairy as what GW2 is trying to do, but it certainly tried to be different. I think that is atleast deserving of some praise, even if in the end it ends up being a rather generic short lived MMO. RIFT is one of the MMOs trying to do something different, and until GW2 is released, how can we be certain that it will be much better? I mean, I assume GW2 will be better, but RIFT is out now, and we still have to wait for GW2. So in all fairness, RIFT has a sort of dynamic events, which brings something new to the MMO genre, but probably not as good as what GW2 will bring us.|||Seems more like RIFT tries to take advantage of other games' innovative ideas by implementing a very poor copy of them and using them heavily in advertisement. The rifts in RIFT are hardly dynamic events - they're more like just spawn points for patrolling mobs.
SW:TOR I don't get. I don't really know much about it, but I'm no star wars fan so I'm not the least bit interested either. I don't see how it caters to people who aren't already fans of that whole thing.
Also, that guy was ridiculously annoying to listen to.|||Oh RIFT is definately stealing ideas and executing them half-arsed. But that still makes it one of the more innovative released MMO's. No doubt GW2 will be a lot better.
And regarding TOR,
I suppose a Star Wars MMO is an interesting concept, if we disregard the fact that this concept has already failed TWICE, and the graphics and gameplay were terrible in both cases. I'm a big Star Wars fan, but this just doesn't get me excited. Star Wars The Force Unleashed however was awesome, but that wasn't even a roleplaying game.
Why does TOR looks so terrible and outdated?
