Follow-up interview Colin Johanson|GuildMag

Like last time, were releasing our interview which was featured in Shadows of Tyria on our site as well. In Waters of Tyria you couldve read how unlucky we were at GamesCom, starting with problems at the front of the business area to an empty battery of our camera. Though within all these troubles Colin Johanson was kind enough to participate in another interview via email. In this interview we asked all the other questions that we had during GamesCom, including some of your own, which you couldve send to us via email before GamesCom. Also included are some personal questions, about pizzas and more. Have fun reading!

I remember reading about the Make a Wish player, and am glad to hear she got a chance to play the new demo.|||Thanks for posting, there was some cool information in there. Some new details about sidekicking, though not very specific. I'm glad to hear they plan on making dungeons hard group content and the favorite experiences pert was very cool.|||I will say that I'm a bit disappointed to hear that the elite area content (dungeons) is going to be limited to 5 person groups. I always liked how you could get up to 12 people in Urgoz or the Deep, and the high number of people in WoW raids sure sounded like it could be a lot of fun.
Maybe they'll have other elite content with higher party sizes? Has this been ruled out?|||D'awww. Reminds me of that kid who's Make-A-Wish thingy was to visit Blizzard, and they gave him his own character in-game (voiced by him!) with a quest, a special bow, and the best mount in the game. Pretty sweet.|||Quote:

I think the problem with that is we don't have henchmen anymore, so a group MUST be filled with humans.
They'd be alienating an even greater part of their playerbase if they designed dungeons for larger groups.
A thought, though: Wouldn't that be an almost ideal case for buyable DLC?
That way it would ultimately be everyones decision to spend money for the dungeon or not.
(If it were within the game, everyone would pay for it.)|||Great interview. I really enjoyed the personal questions, they were very insightful without being silly. I wished we had more interviews like that.
I'm ver happy the dungeons are limited to five people. The "raid" fad, with people aiming for groups of one zillion players together, feels more like just players wanting more of the same (a stereotypical feature in MMORPGs) than something which would be a good game mechanic.
Erasculio|||i like that dungeons will be instances, i played ones a F2P game and did a dungeon which was also persistent, it was a hell to actually play at your own pase without ppl snatching your goal >_<|||Is Emily dead now? That interview was horribly depressing.|||This particular sidekick system description sounds mostly pretty good, though of course a more full description will be more useful.
