Q: Do we have to use our Guild Wars character name in Guild Wars 2 in order to receive Hall of Monuments benefits?
A: You don't need to use your Guild Wars character name in order to benefit from the Hall of Monuments rewards in Guild Wars 2. Use whatever name you like in Guild Wars 2!|||Quote:
Q: Why did I receive 3 points for having "Accounts Linked" under the Monument of Honor when I haven't done any linking yet?
A: When Guild Wars 2 is released, there will be a way to link your Guild Wars account to your Guild Wars 2 account. If you own Eye of the North, you will receive 3 points for linking the accounts together. The Reward Calculator assumes that you will have linked the accounts together, so it automatically gives you those points.
Nice to have an answer on that one, that 3 points although was appreciated, was bugging the hell out of me, nice to know what it means now
Thanks for posting this DELTAg, completely missed that!.

Not really anything new, basically what you'd expect.|||Quote:

this is kinda a thing i hoped too have different, i hoped more along the lines of "one of your names in your guild wars account is reserved for use in your guild wars 2 account"|||I think our names are reserved via HoM, at least for a while after GW2 release. But that was said elsewhere, I'm too lazy to look it up sry.|||Quote:

Might just be me not keeping up to date with the HOM things after the calculator was released, but back at the start people were wondering if it meant linking eotn to a prop, fact etc etc account, linking it to the store, just simply getting to the HOM to create the link etc etc.
Wasn't specified back then that it was 3 free point for the system presuming you will buy GW2 and link that account to it, so it was a bit of clarity for me, but it might have been figured out earlier like you said and i just missed it, either way it was new to me
On the topic of names, I'm certain it was said earlier (MUCH earlier) that our names would be reserved Via the HOM, that one one of the incentives we knew about back then for even getting a character to the HOM, but still things have changed so maybe it wont let us reserve names, but even so im sure Anet will implement a way for us to reserve our names, even if its not via the HOM itself.

It's been said repeatedly your GW char. name will be reserved for GW2.
I think the quoted part is just saying you aren't forced to use one of your GW character names to get the benefit from your HOM in GW2.|||Quote:
