By big I mean the # of man involved.
I am guessing around 1000 men.

10000 men +|||There was one video of people fighting the Shatterer where the devs said there were roughly 60 people actively participating in the event, so I'm going to go with 50-100.||||||Around 100, from my experiences with aion and aoc that's about the maximum most servers/pc's can handle (I don't think they'll allow hiding of player characters to reduce lag like aion did).
That's also a number with which tactics are still somewhat viable, instead of everything becoming ZERGZERGKEKEKEKEKE :p Unless they rely on tactics within smaller groups seperately completing objectives, but that takes a lot of the BIGness away from such an event...|||not voting cause kagillion isn't there|||More people = your influence gets lost in the crowd. No thanks on more than 50.|||Yeah, I doubt you'll see anything above 100. Good luck figuring out what is happening at that level, even.|||100 people fight a dragon. He does AoE attack. The remaining 10 non-noobs fight the dragon.|||Quote:

This is just my opinion. 100 men is a good size for a single company, but not enough for the whole battle. For example take a castle siege, where the castle has 4 doors. 100 men at each door is already 400 men. In order words the companies can work separately and fight in different locations to fulfill the ultimate objective.
Then we look at medieval battles. Companies in the size of 100-200 line up to face each other. 1000 men is only 10 companies. This is almost the bare minimum amount of men to bring to a battle. Anything less is just a raid.
Spoiler
Each company follows the command of their captain, while the captain follows the orders of a colonel. So commanding a 1000 men army won't be an issue by following the Chain of Command.

If the server can't handle it then it can't be done, unfortunately. And it really depends on the scale that they want to set this thing. For example in World War 2 Online every small territory need to be fought over.
