What does the rest of the world think?

Hey...
I haven't posted on this site in something like a year now and so that combined with a late night, an international relations paper due wednesday, and finals coming up may result in this being an unreadable, disconnected, irrelevant piece of garbage....
But basically here's my question to everyone:
Sure, as Guild Wars fans we know about Guild Wars 2. As avid fans we often know all there is to know about it. But what about the rest of the world? To be honest only two of my.... 14... friends IRL at school have even heard of GW2, and only one of those even shows interest. I know GW2 is relying on the interest of those who typically wouldn't be playing MMOs to bolster its numbers while also producing something new and original. So its imperative that these "non-MMO'ers" at least hear about the game... how much do they actually know?
So... to anyone who reads this and feels they can accurately gauge the situation please let me know! I'm certainly interested, and i think the majority of people on here are at least mildly so...
Thanks,|||Everyone I know can't figure out a way to get me to shut up about GW2, so - at the very least - they know about it.|||I know at least some of my friends and family members are interested in the game, but I am the only one who follows news updates so religiously. Then like Bilbo says, there are those who have grown tired of listening to me go on about how the game will be awesome.|||I managed to make two of my friends who are big gamers and WoW fans to take a look at GW2... They normally always tell me "Oh yea, ive heard about this game" But when I showed them GW2, theyre mouth actually droped.
Im still trying to get some of my other friends to at least take a look at the trailers and demos. All I know is that everyone that I managed to get to watch the manifesto got about as excited as I was. The only people who seem indifferent to the manifesto are non-gamers, and that doesnt suprise me.|||the only friend i have already plays GW so there isn't much too say to him, i have nagged about GW2 at work for some time so the ones in to games know about it.|||Sure you don't mean something else than you only have one friend?
Anyways, none of my real life friends have any interest in MMO's, and most of them don't even care for RPG's, they're just not the target group of people, so apart from suggesting them to take a look at it at release there's nothing else to say.
Apart from that though, I know my cousin and a bunch of his friends will be picking it up, and then there's all the people I've gotten to know through the game who will also be getting it.
But yes, I've mentioned the same thing before, apart from person to person relations I know absolutely noone who knew about gw, and I'm fairly sure the same goes for gw 2.
When there are no major games or electronics conventions in the country to create exposure, you just have to already be interested and seek out information to get it.|||Non-gamers barely know what Diablo 2, Starcraft 2, and World of Warcraft are... Non-gamers don't know the goodness of Guild Wars.
The target demographic is gamers, specifically fantasy online gamers, and then MMORPGers who are looking for something fresh.|||All of my friends who are gamers either already play GW and know GW2 from that, or follow gaming news and heard about it that way.|||Today was a bad day to talk about GW2 at my school since they were all saying stuff like "OMG COD BLACK OPS COD BLACK OPS"|||Quote:
