Upcoming News Release Roadmap

Did anyone see the latest interview given at MMORPG titled "Guild Wars 2: Colin Johanson Interview"?
The home page site of this forum lists it also. What I find intriguing:

Quote:

Coming down the road, we’re going to reveal more information on the professions, we’re going to talk more about dungeons, more high-level raids and organized group content, we’re going to talk more about more about the other races in the game, and we’re going to talk about their personal storylines and their cities and their roles in the game world. We’re going to talk about PvP and all of that stuff that’s coming down the road, but I can’t give time estimates as to when we’ll be talking about that stuff, or in what order, because, like I said, we don’t want to talk about it until it’s in the game and so whatever gets in and is polished first, that’s the next thing we’ll talk about.

This sounds to me like a rough roadmap of news we can look forward to keeping the bolded part in mind of course.
I am most looking forward to the profession releases and race releases. As mentioned on the home page, I wonder if the next release will be the mesmer. On races, seeing some race specific skills would be cool.
What are you most looking forwards to?|||Is it still a roadmap if they don't give any indication of when these things will happen?
I think everyone here knows these things are coming, the million-gold-piece question is when.
Not that I blame them for not committing to any sort of deadline and announcing them Blizzard-style "when they're ready".
[/grumble]|||You have to give them this: Not many people saw the information release on HoM items for GW2 coming.
That was unexpected and also very nice. We don't have to know when everything will be released. Otherwise, there will be no surprises, right?|||Quote:

It was unexpected the way Duke Nukem Forever was unexpected.
We had all been told it was coming, we were just beginning to think it was an elaborate joke.|||Pretty thin "roadmap", since it makes no mention of more information on the item system, guilds/alliances, auction house, other social features, crafting, storage, and other things we want to know about. They have plenty of stuff left to cover, and I'm sure they'll get around to it, but I don't think that interview gives a really good clue as to the order of future reveals.|||Quote:

It's less of a roadmap, more of a world map or globe. We know where we're going just not how long it'll take to get there or the exact route we take to get there. So we know what's coming just not when and in what order the things are revealed.|||Quote:

yep. Just because you have a map doesn't mean you know the road conditions .|||Quote:

My point was more, "we know these things are on the road ahead, we just don't know their location relative to our position or each other".
I would consider a road map to be an ordered list of announcements, doesn't need to have exact dates as long as we know what's "coming up next". We have no idea if things like PvP will be in a couple weeks or six months from now.
Again, I realize that such a list would be too constraining for ANet, since 1) they don't want to announce features until they're in-game and functioning, and 2) these articles are being written by people from different departments, which are probably working at different paces. IOW exactly what the bold print in the OP says.

True, that was a rather awesome surprise.|||Quote:

With Duke Nukem, we didn't know if it even was coming, and there was real risk of it disappearing forever. I think it came back more as an elaborate joke, or as a dare. I can see one dev going "eh, we'll go down in history as the guys who published Duke Nukem Forever, yeah, let's do this WOOOOOT"

This is your map in a blender.|||Of all the possibilities of news releases, I wonder what will be NEXT?
My personal guess is that the professions are pretty much done. What would it say about the state of the game if only 4/8 professions were fleshed out enough to present to the outside world? So yeah, I think all professions are pretty much done (apart from numbers tweaking). Therefore, the next news release will be a profession release. Of course not all professions will be released at the same time, but I would say that this simply has to do with the marketing strategy - releasing small bits of information that us fans can digest :-)
