So far, we have that World vs. World and competitive stuff.
I have to ask, who has ever played Fantasy Earth Zero? You know... *cough* If they had an exact KvK (Kingdom vs. Kingdom) copy from FEZ in this game, how many of you would play it?
Trust me, it's loads of fun, the only issue with FEZ was how unplayable the game itself was... Hopefully I don't sound like the hugest dork of all time for wanting an exact system in an exact system.
An explanations of Kingdom vs. Kingdom.
100 players, 50 for each kingdom.
There's a castle, and a crystal mine. Plenty of wide open map in between. You sit by a crystal to harvest crystal... You can also heal at a crystal.... But the healing rate was negligible and very draining on the precious crystal resources. From the crystal you create obelisks OR other buildings that enabled summons (we'll go to summons later). Obelisks could be placed anywhere, and were the source of "power" whoever had more obelisks won. Destroying obelisks generated massive favor to the other side. (I remember one time I was a very crappy newbie who couldn't fight the other guys, so I just ran to a poorly placed obelisk in the corner and JUST BEFORE THE GAME ENDED I destroyed it and won my kingdom the match, it was very exhilarating and rewarding). Summons are the glue that keeps the system together. Giants kill obelisks and deal great damage but are very slow and bad against infantry. Knights are great anti-wraiths and anti-giants. (Wraiths are just anti-infantry) Chimeras are HUGE monsters that pretty much spell doom unless dealt with. Kind of awe inspiring to see your kingdom gang up on a chimera to take it down.
The reason I point this kind of PvP mode out is because Fantasy Earth Zero had action gameplay that was very similar that I'm pretty sure Guild Wars is going to make much improved. I'd recommend you try it since it's free, but Gamepot just shut FEZ down. :(
SORRY FOR THE POST, I'd just rather put the info here than have you guys labor just to read up on it.|||I didn't play or follow Fantasy Earth Zero... can you describe KvsK please?|||Quote:

Just added in a very bad explanation. x.x Sorry if it's confusing, just point out the confusing parts so any future people who want to read don't get confused.|||Sounds like there's some interesting elements... I think WvWvW will probably incorporate elements like this... maybe... hopefully...|||Didn't get anything out of that OP. Big Open PvP with objectives and capture points etc.? Already sounds like the vague descriptions of WvWvW we've gotten so far.|||Well, there are interesting elements like players being able to use resources to create large summons. Those summons then join the battle. You can then fight the summons or avoid them. The more resources you put into it, the larger the summon.
Kinda like if you could gather resources to summon a dragon, a dredge, or a turtle or juggernaut. Obviously, the dragon would cost a lot more.
If WvWvW is anything like FA and JQ (in parts), then that would be a welcome addition... I can see players running resources to try to summon a dragon.|||This sounds like it could be pretty interesting. Having to build strategically, choosing between obelisks and other buildings, choosing the right balance of summons... Hmm did the summons walk around according to their own plans or could you control them? Were there lots of them (like an army) or were they individual?

SORRY FOR THE POST
Uh why lol it's a good explanation.|||I'd make some summons have their own plans (like patrolling and protecting structures) others would follow players around.|||Who would decide which summons get built? This is really a general thing; we know we have "resources" like mines already, but we don't know if those resources just trigger NPCs to build and repair things, or if they can actually be spent to build and maintain fortifications. I'm betting on the former, but the latter would be amazing.|||Simple way to get the latter, each time you bring a resource, you vote for what to build. Simple NPCs may cost 1 resource, and those that follow someone follows the "buyer" unless you tell it to stop following, in which case someone else can take it. Larger summons cost more and so are voted on, and they have pre-determined behavior so you don't have to play tug-of-war for them.
Something more-or-less like that.
