Razer's Hydra and GW2

[:1]I'd think I was posting an ad if I didn't know myself better. I've been a fan of Razer products for a while, but frankly, I have a hard time thinking of a good peripheral aside from keyboard and mouse for GW2 (or MMOs in general). And then I saw this, and I am wondering...
It's a set of 2 motion controllers with each 2 front buttons, 4 thumb buttons, and two sticks. The controllers themselves record XYZ rotations. So you have a total of 10 axes and 12 buttons.
Knowing Razer, I'm sure the config will allow you to set the two sticks to 4 buttons each instead, and even the motion axes could be similarly reconfigured... but... would it be any good?

The list of supported games mostly list FPS (which the thing is mostly designed for tbh), but it gives me hope that Magicka, Titan Quest, and Torchlight are supported... Also, World of Goo suggests that a mouse-like point & click is possible.

Which brings the question... how useful will voice comms be in GW2?|||That's the point. The problem apart from the complete inferiority of controller movement and agility compared to a mouse has always been that pretty much any game out there not played as casual joe requires more buttons than a controller can properly give you. It means you end up with bandaid solutions such as holding down a button to multiply available buttons, which is outright clumsy and not useful in the least.
Multiplay with interaction outside of voice com just further exacerbates the problem.|||Meh, I just want a Razer Naga Epic and Razer Anansi and I'll be fine. Motion controls seem a little gimicky to me.|||my mouse works just fine, it's smaller and faster too.|||The only times I use a controller are with fighting games and stuff like Mario and Zelda..
I just suck at FPS with a controller.
Keyboard+Mouse will always be my #1.|||I try to keep an open mind... in part because I might get a projector and throw the image on the ceiling instead of on a wall or screen... and then play the game lying down. You know... spending too much time sitting and typing... I want to change it up a bit.|||Quote:

This is exactly it. The point of consoles and what the controllers have on a standard keyboard/mouse is the fact that you can lie sleeping in your bed or whatever the **** you want really, and still play. Once again though, it leads back to a previous point of mine, this only works with a casual approach to the games you're playing.|||I'm happy to sit keyboard & mouse when I do a dungeon or some elite content.
But lots of parts in GW2 are casual-friendly, and I plan to enjoy those casually.
