Necrobator | The New Skill Acquisition System in Guild Wars 2

[:1]This article appeared 2 days ago. It does not qualify as news but rather as opinion. Therefore, I have posted this here instead of the news page. It is relevant to the current discussion on Skill Acquisition which is why I posted the link to the blog here:
http://www.necrobator.com/events/gam...-guild-wars-2/|||Great analysis, and I agree completely. Static skill trainers are so beneath this game. The new method is much, much better.|||Very good summary. I like that the 2nd half of the skill bar is handled differently to the first so that you still have some choice over the skills that you learn.|||I don't really see much else to it than the opinion that learning by doing is supposedly superior to doing, then unlocking which is a fair point but in my opinion hardly worth an article.|||Quote:

I think it's worthy of an article to point something like this out when the gaming community is qq'ing that this is a step BACKWARDS. Seriously, if anet listened to the majority on this, they'd go back to making us learn the skills by talking to an npc in a town that could have dead npcs.|||Is the community doing that? I'll admit I don't follow every random forum that has GW as a topic, or even Riverside on gwg so I obviously don't know.
I'm not trying to shoot it down, but I feel like the article itself has no actual content. The firsthand experience of the writer appears to be limited to a previous version of the Alpha and there's hardly any new data on the game, but rather opinion.
To me, it seems more fit for a thread and a discussion, but that's not up to me.|||Quote:

Yeah, there have been some complaints.
See here.|||Well, if you're referring to my post, I see the term "minor complaint" I see "not a big thing" and that "I never said it sucks", so as far as the "gaming community", I don't think I deserve that much power, but thanks. And for qq'ing, I'd say that's from people like you who keep wanting to blow this out of proportion.|||I like it lol. Enough said, I have explained why I like already once, so no need to do it again ^^.|||Quote:

Wow, umm... if you followed that link you'd find a forum page that doesn't have your name anywhere on it, paranoid much? As for "people like me wanting to blow this out of proportion" umm... I was stating why I thought the topic was worthy of an article, people were complaining and an article was made addressing those complaints by someone who has actually had a chance to test the new and old system. I think you're the one trying to blow my rants out of proportion
(Admittedly, it's more the outspoken minority that has an issue with this, not really the community in general, I believe there were also complaints at gw2guru's forum though I do not know how much) Regardless, there were complaints, and this article addresses them.
