GW2 Camera control vs GW1

[:1]Could anyone who played before or will play at gamescom tell me what is the camera in GW2 like? Is it slowish and disorienting ("smooth") like in GW or instantly matching mouse movements like in other games?
Also, is there annoying autocenter like in GW1? Like if I look behind me and put away the mouse, will the camera move to front again?|||Hmm, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by your statement, you do know that you can control the camera with your right mouse button right? Sure, it can seem smooth or even slow depending on how you move your mouse, but I find it possible to quickly change the camera orientation by jerking the mouse. If you're referring to how slow it is to turn the camera with the keyboard, yeah that is a pain if you try and control it that way, thankfully there isn't much reason to.
As for how gw2 will work, I don't know, and only a few here have gotten the chance to try the beta (and Anet has stated that they're still working on the ui, so this is probably still subject to change as well).|||Doesn't the GW1 camera snap back to center when you move? I think that's what athariel means.|||I didn't know there was an autocentering feature in GW1. Maybe it's an option that you toggled somehow. It just seems that my camera stayed put.
And after viewing many GW2 vids, I didn't notice any autocentering there either.|||In GW hit F11 to go to your Options, on the Control tab look for "Camera: Free Camera", there is no default button for this, and unfortunately it is a press and hold button option, but this will keep the camera from automatically re-orienting to "face" the way your character is facing. If you have macros on your keyboard or mouse you should be able to set some type of toggle macro that will continue to simulate a button press and hold.|||It only snaps when you start moving. I never found it to be that much of an issue. If I needed to look behind me or around me, I'd click to run, then look around with the camera.|||snapping back is annoying.
But about the first part - play any other MMO than GW and you'll see a difference. If you want to do a 180* in WoW/Rift/Aion whatever it's instant, but in GW it takes like half a second for camera to smoothly reorient itself, enough for me to notice.
oh well. Now I did some google searches and noticed I'm not the only one http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/...emo-t8189.html and that thread already has replies|||it moves really fast in GW1 so why would it be any different in GW2?
maybe you set your graphics higher then your vid card is able to handle, that can cause things to go slow.|||The only issue I ever had was the fact that big obstacles like walls etc. would **** you over since you have to zoom into first person to be able to look in the right direction.|||And I was singing bye bye mr azureasky
brought you're gold ad into my pad, that was not too smart guy
