After the very enjoyable bursts of GW2 goodness at each of these convention, I am starting to wonder when we can look forward to more :-)
I feel certain that Arenanet will be present at Gamescom 2011, PAX West 2011 and also PAX 2012 as well. And at each of these instances, we will hear more about GW2.
The question is: Will that be it? Feel free to discuss and speculate!|||they always go to known places, never to the local places.
by local i mean the land to land events, Holland Belgium and France are always skipped >_<|||As I can't get to any convention, I will settle for information on a new profession.
(And maybe a release date )|||Quote:

Last year, the GW2 demo was playable in Cologne (Gamescom) and Paris (Paris Games Week). Surely, Cologne isn't far from the Netherlands? That's local imo (albeit in a slightly larger scale). And, as you probably know, Paris is the capital of France.|||Quote:

I went to GamesCom, and I live in Holland as well. Just jump into a car, drive to Germany. It's not that far, just across the border. There's not even checks at the borders these days. The event was well indicated with signs as well. A friend of mine just arranged a one night stay at a simple hotel nearby, so we could attend for two days.|||Well hopefully this will answer your question Thalanor, got this in my inbox less than an hour ago from the ncsoft newsletter

Comic-Con - 20-24 July 2011: We'll be visiting this mecca for all things pop cultural in San Diego, California, North America this year. More details to come!
Gamescom - 17-21 August 2011: Europe's largest game show in beautiful Cologne, Germany, is definitely on our list. We'll have a demo build of Guild Wars 2, plenty of devs on hand to meet fans and answer questions, and some cool surprises.
PAX - 26-28 August 2011: There's no way we'd miss PAX Prime, a legendary three-day gaming festival in Seattle, Washington, North America. We've got big plans for this year's PAX, so stay tuned!
We'll release more specific details about our summer plans on the ArenaNet Blog and on our Facebook page in the near future. We'll see you this summer!
My personal speculation is that we will have the final profession announced at Gamescom (Having got the 7th sometime between now and then), that being the cool surprise, and the "Big plans for PAX" imo could very well be a new trailer and the announcement of the release date. That's my hope and speculation either way
Bring on Comic-con! xD

you live in limburg right, i live at the other side completely left in north holland.
i also don't have a car or anyone willing to drive me there, so a trip anywhere outside north holland is worth nothing to me.|||Quote:

I drove twice to Cologne in 09 and 10 for the Gamescom, it's just over 200km for me to drive. Other than that, I'm pretty sure you could take the Train (as a relatively inexpensive way) to get to Cologne.
I think what we're trying to say is that on a global scale, Cologne isn't very far away at all from the Netherlands, so the way I see it, it is very local.|||Quote:

So basically, your complaint would be like me complaining that they don't come to Wisconsin (or is North Holland even smaller than that?). They can't go to every state and country in the world, sorry. If they go somewhere within 12 hours of you, consider yourself lucky. I'd probably try and meet up with them if they did anything in the midwest, Chicago would be ideal... but even if they were in Tennessee or Ohio or something like that I'd be tempted. Tennessee is about 12 hours from me btw.|||Distance is relative to availability of transport and ability to afford said transport and lodging.
Everything is closer if you have a car or can afford to take a plane.
