[:1]Before the existence of the French nation state, when Normandy was still part of Scandinavia (Norsemen) Bordeaux was a county of England.
It wasn't an invaded and occupied colony, not a crown dependency nor an oversees territory. It was a wholly and legally incorporated part of the English nation. It was Britain that developed it as a wine region, built its port and roads.
Since it was annexed by the emergent French nation and then empire the initial British investment has been improved upon such that Bordeaux is a UNESCO heritage city, it's wine is the best in the world, the port is gone, but the roads are improved and there are now railways and airports.
Should Britain be able to claim the whole Southwestern quarter of what is now France? Hundreds of years after it ceased being English?
The Ascalonians had occupied their land long enough to cultivate farms, build roads and mighty castles. Many generations worth of work, effort and toil. To settle, expand, and create a vibrant society.
So what validity does the char claim to Ascalon hold?
That territory may have been yours, now it's not. Deal with it.|||Wie bitte, das gehrt alles uns!
back on topic: It's history & lore for a game.|||Should US return their land back to the native indians? The land used to be theirs, now it is not. Unless they can somehow beat US (LOLZ!), deal with it.
Should China return Tibet back to the Tibetans? The land used to be theirs, now it is not. Unless they can somehow beat China (LOLZ!), deal with it.|||Quote:

And now the Charr have occupied their land long enough to cultivate ranches, build roads and fortresses. Many generations worth of work, effort, and toil. To settle, expand, and create a vibrant society.

rofl this.
Anyway your assumption, OP, is that the Charr gives a rats *** what the humans did with their lands. The Charr had the strength to retake what they lost, anything else is besides the point to the Charr.|||Quote:

Another good reason to engage in some pest control, do the world a favour, and wipe the char out|||I sense someone is a bit butthurt about something.
Can't exactly point my finger to what though...|||Quote:

I think the official Charr stance on this sentiment is "Bring it on."|||Quote:

We, Charr, accept your challenge puny humans. Bring your puny magic and face the might of the Legions. We will crush you again just like before. Only the cowardly actions of your mad king denied us totally victory the first time. This time you will not be so lucky.|||Quote:

Indeed, that sounds like the morally correct thing to do. Genocide is always a good answer, and it would really set the humans apart from the Charr morally speaking!
