Notes:
-the starting personality choices are interesting. I wonder how big of an impact that will have in the storyline. (e.g. some NPCs will help you if you are nice, while others will only help you if you force them to)
-I hope they let players select character voices too. Or maybe voices depending on personality.
-It seems even mini quests will have a short mission briefing now.
-Guardians can buff themselves or buff allies. But not both at the same time.
-Guardians, not sure how they used the environment to summon a trap. We will learn more about this later.
-Participate in events means you get the exp. Players are not fighting against other players for loots.
-Seems mobs will do different things, forcing players to react differently. Too bad the worm died too fast. :D
-Why use hearts on the map for event hot beds? Valentine's day? :D
-Load time seems much longer than GW1. Oh well bigger world.
-Can't tank like we used to in GW1 anymore. Have to dodge around to survive. Will be funny seeing mages roll around like that. Or maybe dodging only applies for rangers and thiefs. Either way dodging takes energy.
-Stealth is cool. Probably will have stealth detection in PvP.
-Down state? Didn't know this is L4D2. :D|||These aren't new.|||yup old news is old :-)
All awesome stuff never the less ^^|||Quote:

Not true. Players count as their own allies when using such skills, just as in GW1, where paragon party shouts affect the shouter as well as the rest of the party (unless the skill description specifically rules this out, as it does with "Save Yourselves!"). For example, a guardian can get two blocks in a row by triggering the active Aegis effect right after the passive Aegis effect has occurred. This was given as an example of how the virtues can be used in solo play.|||I'm pretty sure they aren't even running any closed Alpha outside ANet yet.
The downed state is nothing new, but will likely be interesting. From what i've seen, it's very close to Borderlands death mechanic.
1) loose all health. go down.
2) Have limited attack potential while down.
3) Get a kill and be revived.
4) Any Ally can revive you, but requires them to be adjacent and be doing no other actions during the revive time.
5) Don't get a kill or be revived within a period of time. You die and must respawn at Rez Shrine.|||Yeah, unless they scream through beta GW:2 might be a ways off
One person I was talking to speculated first or second quarter, 2013|||Quote:

If you "tanked" in gw1, you clearly didn't have a good grasp on the mechanics of the game. A tank is the worst spec in the game. I think even a barrage mesmer might be more effective.
I'm assuming you only just started following gw2, since we've known most of this stuff for months now. If you like, I'm sure some of our more ambitious posters could compile some information for you about the game. But here's a few of the highlights off the top of my head:
There will be 5 playable races!!
We'll be able to jump and swim!
Some of the playable classes include ones from gw1, such as ele, warrior, ranger, mesmer, and necro.
Guild Wars 2 will be the sequel of gw1, and 250 years have passed!|||Old footage is old.
