Charr Week Coverage Thread

As alluded to in the Nowgamer article, and in the fb group, this week is Charr week. In this light, this thread shall cover all the official Anet coverage that seems to paralel the Nowgamer interview coverage. There is already a Nowgamer thread on that topic. Feel free to discuss anything related to Anet's official coverage posts here.
Here is the highlight from Anet's Charr Week coverage:

Quote:

Monday – On the blog today, designer Devon Carver explores the Village of Smokestead, a key location in the charr starter area and explains the iterative process behind this map’s creation.
Tuesday – In this blog post full of audio clips of charr chatter, writer Scott McGough will show how writing and sound design come together to create a compelling, immersive environment for players.
Wednesday – We’ll talk to the artists responsible for the visual look of the charr – Katy Hargrove, Kekai Kotaki, and Kristen Perry.
Thursday – We’re updating the charr page on GuildWars2.com with new charr background text by Jeff Grubb and a video tour of the charr homeland.
Friday – Lore and Continuity Designer Ree Soesbee illustrates the ferocious, competitive nature of charr society in this loreful charr blog post.

1.) Creating the Charr Starter Area
2.) Scott McGough on Writing the Charr
3.) The Artistic Origin of the Charr
4.) Charr Page Update
5.) The Legions of the Charr|||Whenever I read blogs like this, I get the feeling GW2 is nearly finished and any moment now they will scream: "SURPRISE: release date is next week lol."
I'm looking forward to reading the charr blogs this week. :)|||The second article has been released.|||Some of this voice acting (going across past ones as well) imo feel forced. Going to extend this to the cut-scene cinematic feel as well (even though off-topic), feels forced when there is no emotion being shown by the characters in dialogue.|||Was voice acting ever that good in gw? I think its kinda fun, it deserves a 6.5/10.
Last picture is named "Charr gunner". Who knows?|||Flamethrower confirmed in the second article.

Spoiler|||While I dont think the flamethrower will be a 'standard' weapon, it might be a race specific skill or maybe an environmental weapon. Or maybe something just for shows. Like concept art showing characters holding spears.
So I would not call it confirmed Delta. :)|||Quote:

The image is called "Charr Hellbringer" and when you hover with youre mouse over the picture it says "Charr Flamethrower". This late in the making of the game, I don't think they would show pictures of something like that when its not in the game.
Anyway, I missed the picture with the character holding a spear, would be as kind to PM me with the link? Thanks :D|||DELTAg, they've stated before that there will be NPCs with classes that we won't get access to. Things such as commoner, butcher, etc. I think "Hellbringer" fits very nicely into that spot. If they call the gunner profession that, well... it would have been better for them to call it a commando.
As for whether we get flamethrowers or not, I think it's too soon to say. They didn't include it in the list of weapons we get, and as Nohjo said, it could be an environmental weapon. They called a magic weapon in one of the asuran dungeons a flamethrower before eotn came out too if I remember correctly.|||I think I'm getting misunderstood a little,
I'm not trieng to proove that you are going to be able to play with a flamethrower.
What I mean is that there is going to be flamethrowers in GW2, wether they are on Npc's or players :p
