A new fansite has emerged with a new interview. Have a read at it as some game mechanics are discussed.
Credit goes to Guru2 for finding this.

Personal Note:
I found the following to be most intriguing.
Quote:
MyGw2: How is game developing going, and what are you working on at the moment?
Eric: Development of the game is going really well! At the moment I’m working on answering questions for one of our fansites . Seriously though, we are currently working on a lot of elements including PvP, WvW, production of our remaining personal story, events, and dungeons. We’re always working as broadly across the game as possible so we can play it and see how everything fits together.
I note that fleshing out professions is not listed. And although I am aware that absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, I can't help but be hopeful about the fact that all professions (including the mesmer ) have been implemented at this time (- the balancing part). What do you think?|||These guys asked some good questions.
Quote:
all player characters in Guild Wars 2 are considered good and would never join one of the many evil organizations in Tyria.
And things look a little worse for the mesmer - no hexes, no interrupts, and now no energy manipulation. What's left?|||Quote:
There are no longer any damage and armor types that influence damage—that mechanic is moved to a different part of the game because we felt it did not add enough depth for the complexity that it created.
I guess this is done to help soloing. No DII immunities. A change for better, I'd say.|||Quote:
I agree. Though one can still be a "bad guy" in other ways, it would be restricted in association with other players (RPing being a big method). I would not be surprised if there were some mischievous quests in the personal storyline you could choose from, but I digress. The article is talking about joining complete "evil" factions.
I would probably either start or join a guild called 'The Nightmare Court' or some type of faction spin-off from the group for my Sylvari.
Also (a bit out of game), I really do not like Asurans and the Charr, and will be role playing my characters such. I will not be resurrecting or talking to players who are either race when I play the game, and I will ramble some necromantic curse at them if they try to talk or help me out in anyway.
There is also customization of character and armor/weapons, which I am sure as in GW1 will allow people to have their character seem a bit "off" from the rest of the gallivanting heroes.
...
And this brings me to a subject I find interesting in GW2, especially how the players will respond to it, and that would be race.
I've already given my take on races (chuckles); I do expect to see complete guilds made up not only of races, but of the factions within each race, that do not let other races or other faction members to join.
Yes this will lead to exclusion between some players, but frankly I value the RPing immersion this allows over general player collaboration.
Quote:
Dueling is not a core system for us, given that we balance all of our PvP combat around groups of players fighting and not one-on-one engagements. Because of this, dueling is on our wish list of things to add, but is unlikely to make it into the game on release.
Would love to see this implemented later on then ^^.

There are many different ways to block or avoid attacks in Guild Wars2, but none of them are random. If you are blocking, reflecting, or evading an attack, it will work 100% of the time. We do not have any random dodge, evade, or block % chance skills.
Positioning, positioning, positioning.|||Quote:

*Rolls eyes* It's cause of people like you that we can't kill Zhaitan! /roleplay
Seriously, I hope that to kill Zhaitan, there's some in story reason you need to assemble a band with one of every race (or at least that it'd be easier with one from each). That would make 5 members, and dungeons require 5 members so it's not outside the realm of possibility. Although, it would be a pain to find certain races depending on the races your guild/alliance members favor, I'm sure.
Anyway, considering events scale depending on how many are fighting, and downed players can fight... I'll be rezzing people so that they can actually help efficiently, or more so. Also, the xp will be reason enough to rez even if not in an event.
Oh, and if people complain about me helping them out, I'll probably be putting them on /ignore. Tough cookies, I got the same right to play this game as you, regardless of which race I'm currently playing on.|||there is still one question that has never bin answered, how advanced is the character customization screen?
it's kinda frustrating, so many good questions answered but never this....|||Quote:

Unless ANet sets up dedicated RP servers, you might want to keep in mind that many -- probably most -- of the people around you in the persistent world will not realize that you are role playing. Do you really want to cuss out some 12-year-old kid who thinks charr are cool and does you the favor of rallying you when you're down? Will that increase his enjoyment of the game, or just increase your enjoyment at his expense? People of any age generally do not appreciate having their playtime made miserable by random jerks, which is what you will appear to be to anyone who doesn't know you are role playing a jerk.|||had the same thing in CO, some random jerk made mr T shouting "fool" all the time while spamming duel requests, ppl like that are the reason ppl like me hate teaming up.
same thing with specific builds, only because my builds are not in the PvX archive doesn't mean my builds never work, discriminations and RP minds like that only hurts the community.|||Roleplaying racism sounds awesome.... no sorry, no medical attention for you buddy, you are inferior to me and I don't like the colour of your fur! Wait, I was not gonna speak to you, this proves you are evil and deserve to die!!
If you act like that you are roleplaying stupidity. If your worst enemy will help you in combat, and once revived saves your life once or twice, you should roleplay that the worst enemy isn't that bad at all. Not that he is the worst enemy no matter what he or she does, ever, period. Even emo kid Gwen isn't THAT stubborn.
I would not enjoy you letting me fail because I am playing an Asuran instead of a stinky Norn.|||Well, even within good there are shades of white :-)
You can be piously good, innocently good, righteously good, ruthlessly righteous, or just be bad-*** good :-) It seems like Charr in general could fall in the latter categories.
There is nothing to be said against bad-*** good, right?
