Jaeho Lee didn't specify if it was going to be the closed or open beta, and anet has already said there will be a closed beta this year (and they don't know beyond that).
I'm going to keep on trusting that info, not Lee's. After all, as massively pointed out, he's said that the beta would come out in 2010.|||Awww I was (irrationally) hoping for a 2011 release date. Oh well, hopefully they will release it early 2012. =]

TOR is futuristic, and for that matter very much clonish afaik.

That is why we are all willing to wait. We know Arenanet will do it right unlike so many other companies out there ... (cough) ... EA ... (cough)|||I'm willing to wait because I still have 2 HoM points to get (minis and obsy armor).
